Friday, December 13, 2024 #117705 RH from N/A Non-Profit (11 - 25 Employees) Absolute joke. I installed WordPress on their server for a client. It took significantly longer than normal because their servers are incredibly slow and gave 500, 504 and 'your file failed to upload' errors every 5 minutes. So, I chatted with tech to see if there are any errors on their end. The tech accidently corrupts the sql and the whole thing disappeared, mid-chat. 2 days later, their techs could not figure out how to repair it - all four of them. It had to be removed. A week later, a failed Wordpress reinstall attempt (by their techs) lead to 2 definitive conclusions: they can't run Wordpress (as advertised) and they are clueless. Friday, December 6, 2024 #117625 Dave S from Comp Edge IT (51 -100 Employees ) First foray with HPU was when they lost 5 years of my company email and couldn't recover any of it. The tech support here is simply pathetic and as bottom shelf as you can get. When I tried to move my domain, they had entered my email address incorrectly. So I had to update my email, which locked my domain transfer for 90 days. I could almost believe they did this intentionally, but that would actually take intelligence, which no one I dealt with there has. My web site was down for 3 days because of another web site getting a DDOS attack, when they resumed service, their firewall rules broke everything on my web site, and had to spend 2 days restoring my level of permissions to have my Xenforo Forum & Wordpress functioning normally. Friday, November 16, 2018 #63483 Mike from Drum Bum, Inc. URLJet was great but Homepage Universe, the company that bought them, is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!! Customer service has poor attitudes, highly unprofessional and they even took my site down after 9 YEARS OF BUSINESS WITH THEM over a very small, temporary issue. Friday, February 9, 2018 #57057 Alex In 8 years working on the Internet I haven't found a hosting company that will take your money and keep your websites hostage. Until I met HomepageUniverse. I was a client of another company which they bought, so I didn't bother to change. Big mistake. One day, one of my websites was hacked and taken down because there were some php scripts doing damage to users / other sites. Everything Ok until here. To my surprise, my Cpanel access was blocked, and 20 days later, after countless tickets (which nobody cares to respond) and countless support chats (that led absolutely nowhere - I was told over and over to wait for a support ticket reply) I still can't get my websites so I can go to another web host.
