Tuesday, August 15, 2023 #110163 Neil Harrison from Ostara Systems (26 - 50 Employees) PHPKB is a knowledge management software that I recently implemented in my organization, and I must say, it's an impressively functional tool. The software offers a user-friendly interface, and our team had a relatively smooth learning curve, which is a significant advantage in today's fast-paced environment. One of the standout features of PHPKB is its robust search functionality. It allows users to quickly locate specific pieces of information, a must-have in a knowledge management system. The ability to organize content into categories and subcategories is quite intuitive and helps in maintaining a clean and navigable knowledge base.Integration was fairly simple, and it fit well into our existing technology ecosystem. I also appreciated the flexibility of customization; the system can be tailored to match specific needs and branding. The wide array of features allowed us to create a detailed and comprehensive knowledge base without feeling overwhelmed. However, it's not without its drawbacks. Initially, we faced some challenges with customer support, which caused some delays in our implementation process. While the support team was knowledgeable, the response time was slower than expected. Furthermore, some advanced features seemed a bit complex to configure, requiring assistance from their technical team.I also found the pricing to be on the higher side, especially for smaller organizations. While PHPKB does offer an extensive set of features, it may not be a feasible option for all budgets. In conclusion, PHPKB is a capable knowledge management software with many strengths, such as user-friendly design, powerful search capabilities, and customization. However, it could improve in areas like customer support and pricing. It's a good option for medium to large enterprises looking for an all-encompassing solution, but smaller businesses might find it a bit overwhelming. If you're looking for a robust and comprehensive tool and are willing to invest in it, PHPKB could be an excellent choice. Thursday, May 6, 2021 #97354 James B. A simple and well-thought-out application that does what it says without extra fluff. I've only been using PHPKB 8.0 for a short time, but I love it already. It does what I need and no more, which is perfect. I was looking for a wiki or knowledge base product and I looked at many other possible solutions but all of them were complete overkill with lots of extra things and complications that I did not need. I wanted a knowledge base and no more and that's what I've found in PHPKB 8.0. (Owned (self-hosted) license with MySQL database) Did you find this review helpful?
Wednesday, April 17, 2019 #97351 Johny C. We are using PHPKB both internally (for our support agents) as well as externally (to help assist our customers in a self-help manner). We have noticed that our support queries have reduced over 60% in the last few months. Did you find this review helpful?
Tuesday, May 24, 2016 #97353 Sergey S. A knowledge base is one of the critical tools for both customer support and internal knowledge management. That's why Comindware (our company) always aims to use the best technology available and does periodic market reviews to make sure we are using the latest and the most advanced tools. PHPKB let us look no further - it stands out amongst the competition and has everything we currently need, and more. It lets us manage public articles, FAQs, and documents, as well as private areas for select customers to provide personalized project documentation, training materials, etc. It also features multi-language support so we don't even need to worry about maintaining several instances of it for different markets. How cool is that! Did you find this review helpful?
Tuesday, January 26, 2016 #97352 Mike Mahon We've used PHPKB's hosted solution for about five years and the experience has been nearly flawless. We originally chose PHPKB because of the clean front end and easy-to-use interface, and of course, price. Over five years, I can't recall the system ever being down, and the PHPKB team has been outstanding and very responsive with customer support. Our users also had no significant issues and the solution just always worked as intended. We generated several million page views over time which were really great given the niche market we're in. The main point I would make with these types of solutions is to line up your content people and keep them engaged to keep your site fresh. For the app, also carefully consider your reporting needs. I expect you could install and maintain this locally without a great deal of effort. Did you find this review helpful?
