Review Summary
Generated using AI from real user reviews
TeamRetro earns consistently strong praise as a remote-first retrospective tool that keeps meetings focused and on track. Across 23 reviews, the overwhelmingly positive response centers on three core strengths: the intuitive, unobtrusive interface that doesn't distract from discussion, built-in templates that make facilitation easy even for newcomers, and thoughtful design for asynchronous and real-time collaboration without requiring screen-sharing or video integration. Users specifically highlight how the tool handles anonymous entries, grouping, and voting, plus the ability to track action items and generate summaries for future reference.
The main criticisms are minor and scattered. Some users note the prescribed workflow (brainstorming → grouping → voting → discussion) can feel limiting if you want to run a very different format, though most reviewers find it flexible enough with available settings. A few mention occasional UX quirks in the discussion phase or want more template variety and export options—such as JPEG summaries. Pricing comes up occasionally as a concern for small teams, though most who mention cost see it as reasonable for the functionality offered. One user reported a JIRA integration issue with assignees resetting. Language localization was also requested.
Only four reviews dropped below 5 stars (all were 4 stars), and even those were fundamentally positive. For remote and distributed teams running retrospectives or brainstorms, TeamRetro consistently delivers on its core promise of being low-friction and effective.

“Retrospective made Easy What do you like best? Teamretro really…”
Retrospective made Easy What do you like best? Teamretro really helped me to connect with my sprint team on our recent work and identify any areas for improvement. It helped me to iterate and complete our projects on time and we had the best experience of learnings as a team and making any changes for the future. What do you dislike? I really don't have anything which can be disliked with this product but I feel as a small company I would them to lower the price of the product. Apart from that, i don't have any other complaints. What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you? First of all, it has a simple design and it is easy to navigate. It helps me solve so many problems which occur in day-to-day business. It helps me to identify what went well in the iteration, What we could have done better as a team, and how to learn from the experiences and do differently to achieve better .

A great tool we use at Riot is @TeamRetroHQ. My past teams always did retros in confluence or a whiteboard, which was OKAY but TeamRetro is a significantly better tool for facilitating discussions and tracking team health over time.

We use @TeamRetroHQ and it's sweet. Also cool that you can define a common retro or health check and then run it over time and easily keep track. Everyone feels bought into it.

“Easy to use agile retrospective tool Comments: I've greatly enjoyed…”
Easy to use agile retrospective tool Comments: I've greatly enjoyed using TeamRetro and find it a helpful way to facilitate retrospectives quickly. As I'm juggling four teams right now, it helps me to facilitate all of their needs right now. I like to mix my retros up, so I have to be creative at times to run a retrospective that is a little different from the TeamRetro format. Pros: TeamRetro allows for fast and easy managing of retrospective activities. I like how easy it is to create an activity, message a link out to all participants, and track actions identified during the retrospective. The summary page it creates at the end of the retro is very helpful to remind participants what happened and the new actions for the team. Cons: TeamRetro does prescribe a particular activity set that starts with ideas, then grouping, then voting, and then discussion. If you have a different retro concept in mind, it will force you to get creative. I've had to create multiple retrospectives

“Very easy to use and covers all major needs of…”
Very easy to use and covers all major needs of a good retrospective or a brainstorming session! What do you like best? TeamRetro is one of my best examples of good software! - It is easy to learn and easy to use. Even the least IT-savvy participants can handle the tool very well right from the beginning due to its intuitive and smooth interface. Also, the sign-on (if required) is a simple one-two clicks procedure. - As a result, the "tool" does not dominate the conversation and does what it supposed to do: TeamRetro supports our participants in focusing on their ideas, thoughts, improvement actions. - The well-defined flow structure (brainstorming, grouping, voting, etc.) might be originally seen as a limiting factor. Practically, however, it covers most of the discussion needs, especially taking into consideration multiple configuration parameters available to the moderator in each phase. One can also jump back and forth, so the structure is in fact quite flexible.
