Review Summary
Generated using AI from real user reviews
Trustico's reputation has been severely damaged by a major incident involving unauthorized certificate revocation and private key compromise. One customer experienced catastrophic operational failure when Trustico revoked 23,000 certificates without authorization, sending private keys via email and rendering websites, VPNs, and security systems inaccessible—resulting in significant financial penalties. That customer reports subsequent refund requests went unanswered and support became unavailable after the incident.
In contrast, two other customers report smooth, straightforward experiences. They praise quick delivery, easy processes, and knowledgeable support staff who answered technical questions competently. One noted phone support was responsive.
The stark divergence reflects a company in crisis following a high-profile breach of trust. While routine transactions appear to function normally, the unauthorized revocation incident—widely documented and involving potential security and compliance violations—represents a fundamental breakdown in customer protection. For buyers, this creates serious questions about whether the company can be trusted with sensitive certificate infrastructure, regardless of how smoothly day-to-day ordering might work.

Company is insane! Just search Google on recent revocation of 23,000 customer certificates to see the full story. But as a customer, Trustico revoked our certificates for all our customers, leaving users unable to access web sites, VPN connections, as well devices and security systems.. in some cases, put lives at risk and cost £400,000 in fines alone. They did this by compromising our private keys by sending them via email to digicert. They issued invalid vouchers, then cut off their chat and phones so that customers could not contact them. Since then requests for refunds for weeks have gone unanswered, and support has been completely useless. The only plausible explanation is that this was just a stunt, using Google distrust over Symantec to force its customers over to Comodo. A simple email advising customers of the situation would have otherwise been fine, but trying to revoke certificates without authorisation, and compromise private keys is completely unacceptable.
