Switching from our previous BIM platform was honestly overdue. What I didn't expect was how painless the migration would feel at a growing studio where everyone is juggling three projects at once. BIM Engine's AI-assisted clash detection alone has already saved my team hours that our old tool ate up with manual review cycles. The model coordination views are cleaner, the annotation workflow is intuitive, and the AI suggestions for design conflicts feel genuinely useful rather than noise. Two things from the old platform I still miss: a slightly richer family/component library and a direct Revit round-trip that doesn't require a few extra steps. Real friction, not dealbreakers.
But here's the honest part: for a startup our size, the value-to-cost ratio is hard to argue with. Their support team has been responsive every time I've filed a ticket, which surprised me given how new I am to the platform. Less than three months in and I'm already the one telling the rest of the studio to stop going back to the old workflow.
