Review Summary
Generated using AI from real user reviews
eTechnology Services' insurance rating software delivers solid value once you get past the setup phase. Users praise the customization flexibility for tailoring rules to specific business lines and the workflow integrations that speed up underwriting submissions—both meaningful improvements over legacy systems. The rating accuracy and audit trail functionality also hold up well for compliance work, and pricing aligns reasonably with the feature set.
The main friction point is onboarding: initial setup requires more hand-holding than expected, with documentation falling short and teams needing sustained vendor support to configure correctly. While the support team itself is responsive and knowledgeable, the lack of self-serve resources like video guides or a deeper knowledge base makes that ramp-up steeper than it should be. The product appears best suited to mid-market and larger insurers willing to invest time in implementation; smaller operations may find both the cost and setup demands challenging.

“Configuration was the thing I was most nervous about handing…”
Configuration was the thing I was most nervous about handing off to a small team like ours. Six months in, I can say the admin panel is genuinely approachable. Setting up user permissions took less time than I expected, and the role-based access controls are granular enough that I could give each person on my five-person team exactly the access they needed, nothing more. For an operation our size, that kind of control matters a lot. eTechnology's setup documentation is clear, and their support team walked me through a tricky rating table configuration on the first call without transferring me twice.
The one gripe I keep running into is that changes to certain permission settings don't take effect until the next login session, which caused some confusion early on. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing if you're onboarding staff quickly. Overall, the platform does what it promises for a small shop managing multiple lines, and the admin experience has been one of the cleaner parts of the whole thing.
