Integrations were the first thing I tested before committing to GL Suite, and two years later they're still the reason I keep renewing. Working solo on state licensing projects means I'm constantly bridging tools, and GL Suite plays nicely with the payment processors, document management systems, and agency portals I touch on a daily basis. The API connections aren't always turnkey, but once they're configured, data moves where it needs to go without me babysitting it. That alone has probably cut my administrative back-and-forth in half.
The configurable public-facing website component also connects better with external systems than I expected from a government-focused platform. Most tools in this space treat integrations as an afterthought. GL Solutions clearly didn't. Their process guides for standardizing regulatory workflows are genuinely useful too, especially when I'm onboarding a new agency client who has never dealt with digitized permitting before. Customer support has been responsive when I've hit configuration walls, though response times can lag a bit during busy periods. Not a dealbreaker, just worth knowing.
The one gripe I'll flag is that some third-party integrations require more manual configuration than the documentation suggests. If you're not comfortable digging into settings and occasionally emailing their support team for clarification, the setup phase can feel longer than it should. For a solo operator without a dedicated IT person, that friction is real. But once everything is talking to each other, the platform holds up well. For the kind of regulatory modernization work I do, nothing I've tried comes close to offering this combination of depth and connectivity.
