Switching from the platform our small education nonprofit had used for two years was not a decision I made lightly. That old system kept inventory well enough, but the maintenance tracking side was clunky, underpowered, and honestly felt like it was designed for someone else entirely. Hardsk caught my attention because the hardware catalog and expert recommendations are actually baked into the same interface where you log maintenance tickets. That combination matters when you're a one-person IT department trying to figure out whether a failing drone needs a part swap or a full replacement.
In the roughly eight weeks since I moved our operation over, I've noticed the product discovery side is genuinely helpful. The expert-recommended hardware filters save me real research time, and the DJI assistant integration has been useful since we run drones for our outdoor education program. Customer service responded quickly the first time I submitted a support request, which I did not expect given our organization's size. The onboarding docs are decent too, though a couple of the tutorial videos felt slightly out of date.
The one downside worth naming is the reporting. My previous tool had customizable maintenance summary reports I could hand straight to our board. Hardsk's reporting feels more rigid, and I've had to do some manual formatting before sharing outputs with leadership. It's not a dealbreaker, just extra steps. For any non-profit or school running a mixed hardware environment and wanting equipment tracking and sourcing in one place, this is a genuinely solid option. I'm cautiously optimistic about where it goes from here.
