“I am a one-person team for my alumni relations office.…”
I am a one-person team for my alumni relations office. The fact that I met with vendors over a three-month period and then designed and launched the platform in 8 weeks means that anyone can do it and it's a very user-friendly product. I would highly recommend Hivebrite to universities to use this platform for their alumni, students, faculty, and staff engagement/professional development platform.

What do you like best? I like that hivebrite gives multiple ways to engage our members. It feels familiar (like Facebook or LinkedIn), so it is easy for them to use. It allows us to track engagement and allows our members to engage with us and each other. What do you dislike? There are a few things that aren't flexible such as engagement points--we can't set custom points and they don't ever reset. It would be great to be able to use this feature for loyalty rewards. Also some fields, such as birthdate are not searchable. We would like to be able to send custom emails for users during their birthday month, but are unable to easily sort this in the system.

"Great tool to connect our Alumni community" What do you like best? The map to connect and network alumni and the company database. Being able to synchronize with LinkedIn is an added value. User friendly, great design, intuitive back office and a great post sales service. We are a network of universities around the world and each of the Deans & career staff that evaluated the tool was impressed. Its a great way of putting together users with different profiles: staff, students & alumni. The jobs tab is great. What do you dislike? I think the "news" tab could be improved by adding more design and more ways of displaying info. Your suggestions as a user to improve the software need to be ranked as interesting by other users before being implemented. I think that regardless the votes a suggestion has a good idea/suggestion should be always taken into consideration.
