The name comes from a joking-like compliment a forum moderator named Dan called the founder right before starting PropellerheadHosting.com, calling him the "propeller head" they turn to. The name, while longer than initially desired, seemed to fit a hosting company that is knowledgeable, so it stuck. The rest is history.
