Running a 12-person strategy consultancy, Notion is our knowledge base, project workspace, CRM lite, and proposal library all in one. The flexibility to model whatever we need - client engagements, deliverable templates, team utilisation tracking - in databases is a competitive advantage. New hires get a full guided onboarding flow built in Notion that has materially shortened ramp time. We've replaced four standalone tools with Notion functionality good enough for our scale. The trade-off is that everything in Notion is a little bit of a compromise compared to specialised tools. Calendar view is fine but not Google Calendar. Project boards work but lack PM-tool depth. For a small consultancy this consolidation is a feature not a bug.
