Started as a one-person operation with a scrappy email list and a lot of optimism. Six months later, Freshmarketer has grown with me in ways I genuinely didn't expect when I first signed up. The platform feels like it was designed for people who plan to scale, not just people who are already big.
What's impressed me most is how well the toolset stretches. Early on, I was using the basic email automation flows and a bit of A/B testing on landing pages. Simple stuff. But as my client portfolio expanded and I started bringing on contractors to help with campaign execution, the workspace setup made it easy to keep everything organized without rebuilding from scratch. The heatmaps and session recording features gave me genuinely useful data to share with clients, which honestly elevated how I present my work. Customer support has been quick and practical every time I've reached out, and that matters when you're running things solo and can't afford to wait three days for a ticket response.
My one real frustration is that some of the more advanced segmentation options have a learning curve that isn't obvious until you're already halfway through building a list. A bit more guided help in those moments would go a long way. That said, the overall value here is hard to argue with, especially for a freelancer who needs enterprise-level automation tools without an enterprise-level budget. If you're working alone now but building toward something bigger, this is worth a serious look.
