Two years managing HR for a mid-sized nonprofit, and Zoho People handles the heavy lifting better than I expected at this price point. Attendance tracking, leave approvals, the self-service portal for staff, all of it clicks together nicely. The drag-and-drop form editor saved me from a lot of painful back-and-forth with our IT contact.
That said, edge cases bite you. Staff who work split roles across two departments get messy in the timesheet logic, and the mobile check-in occasionally ignores IP restrictions rather than flagging them clearly. Customer support took longer than I'd like on the split-role issue. Solid for straightforward setups, just know its limits before you go in.
