Review Summary
Generated using AI from real user reviews
HC1's role-based permissions system stands out as genuinely thoughtful, particularly for smaller clinical organizations managing mixed teams. This single review praises the intuitive access controls, which allowed the user to configure granular permission levels across clinicians, admin staff, and volunteers without feeling like a workaround—a significant advantage for a non-profit running lean on IT support. The reviewer also noted responsive support that handled a complex multi-site setup in a single call.
Some friction points exist. Bulk user updates are slower than ideal, and the audit log export requires manual cleanup before sharing with leadership. The admin console has quirks that don't derail the experience but do add friction to specific workflows. These issues are framed as minor relative to the core permission architecture, which the reviewer credits as architecturally sound rather than hastily added to the product. Based on this limited feedback, HC1 appears strongest for organizations prioritizing access control flexibility and willing to accept some administrative overhead.

“Configuration options are what sold me, and a year in,…”
Configuration options are what sold me, and a year in, they still impress. Setting up role-based permissions for a mixed team of clinicians, admin staff, and volunteers took less time than I expected. The interface for managing access levels is genuinely intuitive. I could lock down sensitive lab result views for some roles while keeping broader visibility open for our care coordinators, and nothing about that process felt like a workaround. For a non-profit running lean on IT support, that matters enormously.
The admin console has a few quirks worth mentioning. Bulk user updates could be faster, and the audit log export formatting is clunky enough that I usually clean it up manually before sharing it with leadership. Minor stuff. What hc1 gets right is that the core permission architecture is thoughtful rather than bolted on, which is rare in clinical tools aimed at smaller organizations. Their support team walked me through a tricky multi-site configuration in one call. No hand-off, no ticket queue purgatory.
