What is SSH Communications Security?
With our software solutions, companies can orchestrate & monitor privileged access to their mission-critical data and safeguard encrypted data whenever it is in transit. SSH Communications Security is the market leader in developing advanced security solutions that enable, monitor and manage encrypted networks. In 1995, the company’s founder, Tatu Ylönen, invented the Secure Shell protocol, which soon became the gold standard for data-in-transit security. Today Secure Shell is one of the most widely used protocols in the world and SSH Communications Security has grown to serve over 3,000 customers around the globe. Throughout our history, we have developed leading edge security solutions that enable organizations to protect against a rapidly growing threat landscape that includes both internal and external actors. Our platform based approach to Secure Shell deployment and management provides the only solution on the market that addresses the need for security, compliance and operational efficiency in today’s complex enterprise environments.

Review Summary
Generated using AI from real user reviews
SSH Communications Security's excellent support is the standout feature keeping users invested in the platform. The reviewer, managing privileged access management for an educational institution, credits the support team—specifically their fast, knowledgeable responses to real problems—as the primary reason for renewal. Tickets receive thoughtful answers within hours rather than generic redirects, which matters when infrastructure breaks during critical moments.
On the product side, the PAM platform itself performs its core job: handling privileged access cleanly and offering SSH key management features adequate for compliance requirements. The reviewer notes the platform meets their needs, but frames the support experience as transforming the vendor relationship into something more collaborative. With only one review available, this assessment reflects a single user's experience at a specific institution rather than a broader market perspective.

“Their support team is the reason I kept renewing. Running…”
Their support team is the reason I kept renewing. Running PAM for a mid-size educational institution means I wear about twelve hats, and when something breaks at 7 a.m. before a faculty meeting, I need a real answer fast. Every ticket I've submitted over this past year got a thoughtful, knowledgeable response, usually within hours. Not a canned reply. Not a redirect to documentation I've already read.
The platform itself handles privileged access cleanly, and the SSH key management features cover what we need for compliance. But honestly, the support quality is what made this feel like a partnership rather than just a vendor relationship.
