Running email and SMS for a Shopify-based DTC brand, I evaluate Mailchimp against Klaviyo every quarter and Klaviyo keeps winning the comparison for ecommerce-specific needs. That said, Mailchimp's Shopify integration is solid and post-acquisition the commerce features have closed some gaps. Predictive segmentation based on purchase likelihood is decent. Abandon cart and post-purchase flows perform reasonably well, though the templated automations aren't as ecom-aware as Klaviyo's. The pricing comparison is closer than people think when you factor in Klaviyo's contact-based model versus Mailchimp's. Content Studio for managing creative assets across channels is genuinely nice. Reporting on revenue attribution per campaign feels less native than I want.
