Review Summary
Generated using AI from real user reviews
CodinGame is overwhelmingly well-regarded, with 23 five-star and 2 four-star reviews across a mix of learners and recruiters. Users consistently praise the fun, gamified approach to coding practice, the quick setup, and the breadth of languages and challenge types available. Developers value the ability to compete, learn new skills, and see solutions from others; recruiters appreciate it as a time-saving screening tool that filters candidates fairly and provides reliable performance benchmarks compared to thousands of other developers.
The most frequent criticisms are narrow and technical. Some users mention debugging difficulty, limited logs for troubleshooting, and a desire for more languages or question types. A few recruiters note the licensing structure jumps sharply between tiers, and one or two flag that the question pool skews theoretical rather than pure coding. One user wished for integration with HR tools (now reportedly declined), and minor UX requests surface—like better navigation or a direct link to next questions.
Only two substantive concerns emerge across multiple reviews: first, some feel the "expert" difficulty tier is not actually hard enough, and second, one recruiter noted question leakage and that high scores don't always predict real-world job performance. A small handful also mention email delivery issues landing in spam. Overall, CodinGame delivers strong value for both self-directed learning and candidate assessment, though recruiters should be mindful of licensing costs at scale and set appropriate difficulty baselines.

"Fantastic product and service!" What do you like best? We use CodinGame in our developer meetups and in our office for fun. I've also just signed up to the "Work" part of CodinGame and I have to say that CodinGame provides tremendous value both, as a team of developers, and as an employer for screening candidates. Lots of respect to everyone at CodinGame! Keep up the great work. P.S. Also love that this company is French/European for a change. “"Codingame is fun to participate in." What do you like…”
"Codingame is fun to participate in." What do you like best? I love that you have the option to work on solo challenges and also to compete with other developers. Creating AI's that compete playing a game against another AI's is a great experience. You are not evaluated by your specific knowledge of some specific subject, but by your ability to solve a problem with the tools available. And time is not a factor most of the time; most contests last 10 days, so you have plenty of time to think and improve your code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike? The only part I dislike is that many participants just copy & paste code they find online (published by other codingamers). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering the product: It's a great tool to develop your programming skills. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“"A fun way to learn" What do you like best?…”
"A fun way to learn" What do you like best? You can improve our skills, explore type of algorithm that may not be your core day to day work, or simply learn new languages by comparing how you would do in your favorite one and the new one. There is a lot of way for you to enjoy the platform. You can even just do dirty code to quickly resolve as mush as puzzles as you can if your more interested in badges and gamification, than code quality. It's up to you to found the fun that match your profile. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike? Debugging is sometetimes difficult. Even if they do great for a web application, and that when I discuss with colleagues I tell them that it's a great opportunity to improve their TDD skills since sometimes be able to debug outside the plateform is a real time saver.

"Platform regular user" What do you like best? Games very well thought through. No bug. Very easy to use. Great to improve yourself on algorithm and coding skills ! Competition really interesting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike? The tutorial should include a part for people who never coded before. That way, a person could learn, completely from scratch, to code this platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering the product: Go for it, no second thought ! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Puzzles and competition games. Improving a lot my algorithm and coding skills.
