“Our company has used Function Fox for about 10 years…”
Our company has used Function Fox for about 10 years and it does all we need, and does it easily. We use it to control project costs, document hours on T & M projects and to calculate our payroll. The reports are easy to create and super flexible. Finally, Function Fox is quite simple to use and the interface is well designed, but I do have an occasional question. When I do, their tech support staff is reachable by phone or e-mail with no phone trees or long hold times, just real people who address the issue clearly. I highly recommend Function Fox.

I own and operate a graphic design and branding agency that, although it's small, handles a multitude of projects with a multitude of moving parts for a multitude of clients. Function Fox is vital for project management, meeting deadlines, keeping detailed track of project time and expenses, and communicating with my contractors. And best of all, it's easy to learn and easy to use. Their support is outstanding. They made the learning curve painless, the transition easy, and have always been quick to respond and assist me when I needed help (which isn't often). They just informed me that I've been using Function Fox for seven years now! I believe it. Over the 35 years of running a busy design agency this has been the best solution I've found for keeping it organized and on task.

Since I have used Function Fox my reporting on graphic and video projects have been easier. The interface has changed over the years for the better. Customizing each project is easy and preparing billable hours is easy. If you are a project manager or freelance / contract graphic designer who has to keep your clients' projects organized this is the best software I could find and I've tried a few. I also think the team over at Function Fox are friendly and helpful. The only recommendation I would add is to include a feature that allows you to drag an email to the project. Since a direction of the project usually changes as there are more people involved, it's good to have a way store email communication.

Extremely cumbersome software and not logical at all. I am a very good at understanding and learning many applications such as InDesign, Word, Excel, Survey Monkey, Constant Contact, Deltek Vision, Dynamics CRM, Outlook and I teach myself everything I can to an advanced level. I like to know the in's and out's of the software I'm using. In all my years of working with software, TimeFox is by far the worst. You can't find anything. It doesn't make sense. Navigation is all over the place. I don't know if Function Fox has taken over the internet and removed all the negative reviews about their software ...but I'm telling you now. DON'T BUY IT!

Really Useful Product at a Really Reasonable Price. I have used TimeFox in several ways: as an employee to record my time; as a production manager to develop estimates, manage projects, and streamline workflow; and as a freelancer to manage my time, keep clients informed, and simplify billing. Recording time with TimeFox is much easier and faster than filling in paper timesheets, and much more accurate, too, especially with its automatic timer feature. I found I was making fewer errors in posting time to projects myself, and because no one had to collate, interpret, and record our team’s time, there were fewer errors overall. As production manager, I used TimeFox features such as estimating, the project blog, client and project reports, scheduling, and calendars, to manage projects and improve communications within our team and with clients. I was able to increase our billable hours, and because we were keeping better tabs on things, there were fewer disputes or questions from clients about bills. With people recording their time as they completed their tasks, I could keep on top of budgets better, and could see who was overloaded with work, and who had the capacity to take on more. I found TimeFox easy to scale up when new employees or contractors were needed and just easy to scale down again, when belt-tightening was the order of the day. As a freelancer, I chose to use TimeFox because it gave me all the professional capabilities I needed, without a whole lot of extra bells and whistles – and at an affordable price. TimeFox helps me understand my business better, lets me reply instantly and honestly to client questions – and makes billing a cinch. Oh. And the customer service is really good too. Whenever I’ve had a question (no matter how dopey) I was able to talk to someone with the knowledge and patience to walk me through the solution.
