Review Summary
Generated using AI from real user reviews
osTicket delivers customizable intake forms that capture structured data upfront, which users credit with reducing ticket back-and-forth significantly. The reviewer stayed loyal specifically for custom fields, praising the core ticketing logic as solid and the overall feature depth surprising for a free, open-source tool.
The main friction point is email notifications, which require patience to configure correctly and lack intuitive design. Beyond this complaint, the reviewer found the platform stable enough to stick with after a year of use.

“The custom fields feature is what keeps me loyal to…”
The custom fields feature is what keeps me loyal to osTicket. I can build intake forms that pull exactly the information my team needs before a ticket even lands in the queue. Department, asset tag, urgency, software version, all of it captured upfront. That alone cut the back-and-forth my team was dealing with constantly.
About a year in, the one gripe I have is the email notification settings. Configuring them without breaking something takes patience. Not intuitive at all. But the core ticketing logic is solid, and for a free open-source tool, the feature depth genuinely surprised me.
